One of the most asked question is, “What should my child wear for their school photographs.” On the day of your child’s school photographs, Excalibur Photography will set up a portable studio to take your child’s photograph. The photographs will be cropped to a head and shoulders format.
The background used by Excalibur Photography is dark blue and cannot be changed. The dark blue background is one of the best colours to use for portrait photographs. This colour goes with a wide range of wardrobe choices. There are some things to keep in mind when selecting an outfit for your child.
Tips:
Many colours will look good against this background, however please avoid dark blue and white. The dark blue will blend into the background.
Try to avoid clothing with large graphics. When the photograph is cropped to a head and shoulders format, the graphic may be cut-off and could appear awkward in the final photograph. If your child has a favourite shirt with a large graphic, all attempts will be made to make the graphic appear presentable. In order to avoid problems on photo day, try and talk your child into something without the large graphic.
If your child wears glasses, glare can be a problem. All attempts are made to minimize or eliminate the glare, but if you are concerned about the glare in the glasses, please ask the teacher to remove the glasses for your child’s photograph.
On the same day, a class group photograph will be taken with all your child’s friends and teachers. Your child may be in the front row. Please ensure your child is dressed with their best outfit and shoes to make a memorable class group photograph for your child.
Some children have a special stuffy that they carry around at all times. This is okay and every attempt will be made to pose your child with and without the stuffy.
At Excalibur Photography, school photographs are a fun and enjoyable experience!
